We Design for Bengali Bodies: What That Means in Practice
The short answer: Not better or worse than any other body, just different: often a lean torso and a fuller bust. Imported size charts were not drawn for it. Ours are.
'International chart follow korlam, kichu milse na' - we hear this constantly. A woman measures herself against a US or European chart, gets a number, orders online, and it does not fit. Because the chart was drawn for a different body shape.
What 'designed for Bengali bodies' actually means
It does not mean one body type. It means we design for the proportions that are statistically common in Bangladeshi women: a lean torso combined with a fuller bust, different hip-to-waist ratios than Western averages, and a different relationship between band and cup size.
Imported bras designed for a Western body often have too much fabric at the side, too narrow a cup for the band, or a cup shape that does not sit right on a shorter torso. SHAPE's patterns are cut differently.

Can I use an international size chart?

Is SHAPE only for Bangladeshi women?
