The Questions You Text Us at 2 AM
The short answer: You are not the only one asking. Every week, women message us questions they would never say out loud in a store. Here are the ones that come up most, answered plainly.
Our Girl Talk community has 51,000+ members. Between the group posts and the private messages, a pattern shows up: women have questions about their bodies and their bras that they have never asked anyone, because they thought they were alone in asking.
You are not alone. Here are the real questions.
Is one breast bigger than the other? Is that normal?
Yes. Almost every woman has some asymmetry. It is completely normal. Fit to the larger side, and the cup on the smaller side will accommodate the difference. On seamless bras, the stretch fabric adjusts naturally.
Should my bra hurt?
No. If your bra hurts, it does not fit. Pain at the band means it is too tight or the cup is too small. Pain at the straps means they are carrying weight the band should be carrying. Pain is always a fit issue, never something to accept.
Is it normal to have marks from my bra at the end of the day?
Light marks from the band are normal, like sock marks on your ankles. Deep red marks, welts, or marks that last more than a few minutes after you take the bra off mean the bra is too tight. Go up a band size or try a wider-band style like the Sure Cover Bra or Longwear Bra.
My breasts sag. Is that a problem?
No. Sagging is a result of gravity, genetics, and time. It happens to every woman. It is not something to fix or be ashamed of. A well-fitted bra gives you the shape you want under clothes, but the shape of your body is not a problem to solve.
Can I go braless?
Yes. There is no medical reason you must wear a bra. Wear one for comfort, support, or the shape you want under your outfit. Going braless will not cause health issues. It is a personal choice.
I am too embarrassed to go for a fitting. What do I do?
You can measure yourself at home. Wrap a tape measure around your ribcage just under your bust for the band, and around the fullest part of your bust for the cup. Message us the numbers on WhatsApp +880 1784 163199 and we will recommend a size. Private, no judgment, no pressure.
Questions women ask us
Will people judge me for asking about bra sizes?
Not at SHAPE. Our fit advisors answer these questions hundreds of times a month. Nothing you ask will surprise them.
Is it weird to talk about bras with other women?
Not at all. Our Girl Talk community of 51,000+ women talks about bras, sizing, body changes and comfort every day. The conversation is normal; the silence around it was the strange part.
Where can I ask more questions privately?
Message us on WhatsApp +880 1784 163199. It is a private conversation between you and a fit advisor. Your questions stay between us.
